At CMA, well-being is more than a corporate initiative—it’s a shared journey. This episode highlights our company-wide Wellable Challenge, a 55-day physical activity competition that brought together over 270 employees across multiple markets. Spearheaded by HR Analyst Raleigh Marria and his colleague Frances Meiklejohn, the challenge encouraged employees to track their activity through the Wellable app, earning points for everything from running and biking to gardening and canoeing. The result? A collective 54,000 miles logged—nearly the equivalent of hiking the Appalachian Trail 25 times.
Raleigh Marria played a dual role as both organizer and participant. His strengths—consistency, relater, discipline, focus, and analytical—shaped the challenge’s inclusive and motivating structure. Raleigh ensured that the challenge was accessible to all, regardless of fitness level or access to wearable devices. His analytical mindset helped design a prize system that rewarded top performers and consistent participants, while his relational strengths fostered a sense of community. Raleigh’s thoughtful planning and commitment to fairness helped create a challenge that was as equitable as it was energizing.
Tyler Nuckoles, Business Manager at CMA Valley Volkswagen, brought unmatched energy and discipline to the challenge. A marathon runner and father of two, Tyler’s daily routine starts at 4:30 a.m. with workouts that reflect his strengths: achiever, activator, woo, individualization, and arranger. His story is one of resilience—overcoming injuries, balancing family life, and inspiring others through action. Tyler’s ability to organize his schedule, motivate peers, and push himself to new heights made him a standout participant. His goal wasn’t just to win, but to model what’s possible when you commit to being your best self.
Kyle Hoffmaster, a technician at CMA Subaru Winchester, rediscovered his athletic roots through the challenge. With a background in track and cross-country, Kyle had drifted from regular fitness until the Wellable Challenge reignited his drive. His strengths—achiever, competition, relater, analytical, and belief—fueled his transformation. Kyle’s internal motivation and competitive spirit led him to run a sub-six-minute mile just before midnight to meet his daily goal. Balancing work, faith, and family, Kyle’s journey was about more than points—it was about reclaiming a lifestyle that aligned with his values and potential.
Dino Womack, Parts Manager at Colonial Kia, brought a lifetime of activity and a powerful personal story to the challenge. Diagnosed with diabetes in 2017, Dino used the challenge as a continuation of his health journey. His strengths—context, harmony, consistency, developer, and relater—shaped his approach. Dino drew motivation from past experiences, maintained a steady routine, and encouraged others to join him. Whether walking laps at lunch or hiking with his sister, Dino’s story is a testament to how personal setbacks can become turning points when met with determination and support.
The Wellable Challenge at CMA was more than a fitness competition—it was a celebration of individual strengths, shared goals, and the power of community. Each participant brought their unique talents and motivations, proving that there are many paths to wellness. Whether through early morning runs, lunchtime walks, or evening bike rides, CMA associates showed that when people are empowered to use their strengths, they don’t just move—they move lives forward.
