I’ve had an interesting career spanning sales, marketing, and human resources. I’ve worked in the family software business, started my own professional development and speaking business, and now lead human resources for a top 100 automotive retail group. These roles have primed me for writing about work for you.
Work is both personal and impersonal. Our work does not define us, but it does represent us. Our work is not us, but it does express who we are. Our work does not bring ultimate bliss, but it can make us feel fulfilled (or miserable). Our work is not all there is, but there is glory in a good day’s work.
As a career coach, I’ve helped people to connect their gifts with their work.
As an HR leader, I’ve hired people, fired people, and helped employees to make work adjustments.
As a leadership trainer, I’ve helped leaders to gain coaching skills, teams to operate from their strengths, and organizations to increase employee engagement.
But don’t get me wrong—it hasn’t been all wins. I’ve probably failed more than I’ve succeeded, but I’ve learned and got up again. And I’d like to pass my lessons to you.
I most often write about:
Employee Engagement
Strengths-Based Workplaces
Leadership Development
So come along as we explore the world of work.
